Introducing the LURE LAB

The Lure Lab is a collaborative community where anglers can access prototype .STL files to print their own baits, try different variations, and provide feedback as Heritage Baits develops new products, driving American innovation in the industry

Innovation

Currently hardbaits are made in two ways: handmade (or semi-handmade with special machinery) balsa, or injection molding plastic baits. Neither are particularly conducive to innovation. Tweaking and changing prototype plastic baits requires tens of thousands of dollars to create new molding equipment, creating substantial time and financial barriers to new and improved designs. The process of 3D printing baits allows for rapid innovation, as design changes can happen in minutes and prototypes created for pennies.

Leveraging 3D printing technology has the potential to spark innovation in an industry that’s slow to adapt to the needs of anglers.

Cost

With tariffs and the increasing cost of producing baits overseas, costs are going up on even low quality plastic baits, and balsa baits will always be more expensive than plastic. When anglers can 3D print baits at home, it keeps expenses down and increases product demand, driving down costs.

Keep your dollars in AMERICA

Spending money on Chinese made baits does nothing but prop up foreign governments that hate our way of life. When baits are made in America, it keeps money in the “fisherman economy” and creates opportunity for anglers here at home. By contributing to the Lure Lab community, you’re contributing to the same local economy that employs your friends and family.
